Q. Does Instagram strip EXIF automatically?
Yes, but platforms like Pinterest and messaging apps like LINE often retain it. Pre-stripping is recommended for safety.
Q. Can I remove only the GPS info?
Currently we offer bulk stripping of all tags for maximum privacy. Selective removal is coming in a future update.
Q. Does stripping metadata change image quality?
No. EXIF is stored in a separate segment from pixel data, so no re-compression or quality loss occurs.
Q. Can stripped metadata be recovered later?
No. PhotoMeta physically overwrites the data segments. Keep an original copy if you need the data later.
